Home Worlds
I started painting people in their homes in 2007. Here are some examples of paintings both finished and underway from this series. As we all find ourselves more confined to our own intimate spaces this year (2020), where we live is becoming more important than ever, it is where we work, where we play, the perch from which we experience together the light of the day.
For the past couple of years I have been feeling a renewed desire to work on this series, to experience other people's home worlds as if they were my own, through sitting in them, smelling them, listening to the ambient sounds, while looking and painting in them. I am starting now to go back to childhood places to paint homes that are dear to me as well as into new environments, unknown to me, with the related project "I See You".
